The palace ticket, priced by visitor
The operator prices the museum route by age and status rather than by room. One ticket covers all three zones, and a version with a guided tour costs EUR 5 more. A seasonal price change has been announced from 19 November 2026, so treat these as the prices of the day they were read.

The autumn discount, and what it costs you in return
From 6 October to 18 November 2026 the Sisi Museum is in the final phase of its refurbishment, and the operator's own wording is worth reading twice: the museum section of the Sisi Museum is closed for the period, while the Imperial Apartments stay open. Hours run 10:00 to 16:30 with the ticket office closing at 16:00, and standard tickets are 25% cheaper, which takes the adult day ticket to EUR 15. The Sisi Pass is excluded from the reduction. If Sisi herself is the reason you are going, this is the window to avoid; if the apartments and the silver are enough, it is the cheapest the ticket gets.
The parts that charge their own admission
Four other operators sell tickets at the same address, and none of them is included in the palace ticket. The Treasury is the one people are most often surprised by: the crown of the Holy Roman Empire is a separate EUR 16 online, EUR 18 if you buy at the door. The Albertina's adult ticket is EUR 20.90, with under-19s free and Vienna City Card holders paying EUR 18.90.
Combinations, and when they pay
The operator's Sisi Pass is EUR 60 for an adult including an audio guide and covers the Hofburg, Schoenbrunn and the Imperial Furniture Collection. Against three separate adult tickets it only pays if you will use all three, which most visitors on a short trip will not. The booking partner sells a Treasury and Neue Burg combination, and the Vienna PASS at $125 covers the Hofburg, the Treasury, the Albertina and the Spanish Riding School among 85 attractions - worth the maths only on a dense sightseeing day.
What costs nothing
The courtyards, Heldenplatz, Michaelerplatz, the Burggarten and the Volksgarten are free and open. So is looking into the Stallburg stables through the window on Reitschulgasse, and standing at the back of the Burgkapelle's Sunday mass when the Vienna Boys' Choir sings, though seats are ticketed.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to visit the Hofburg?
EUR 20 for an adult on the palace route. Adding the Imperial Treasury brings it to EUR 36, and the Albertina another EUR 20.90.
Is the Sisi Pass worth it?
At EUR 60 it covers the Hofburg, Schoenbrunn and the Imperial Furniture Collection. It pays only if you use all three. It is valid for one year from the date of issue, with one visit to each site.
Is the Hofburg free?
The courtyards, squares and gardens are. Every museum inside charges, starting at EUR 16 for the Treasury and EUR 20 for the palace route.
Are Hofburg tickets cheaper during the refurbishment?
Yes. Standard tickets are 25% cheaper from 6 October to 18 November 2026, taking the adult ticket to EUR 15, because the museum section of the Sisi Museum is closed. The Sisi Pass is excluded.
